This is an easy and tasty way to prepare yardlong beans. Even your children might like these crispy green fries. Especially with some homemade black truffle mayonnaise!
Crispy Yardlong Beans
- 1 cup tempura flour
- 1 cup sparkling water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 400g yardlong beans, washed
- vegetable oil, for frying
- Heat the oil to 375F. In a bowl, mix the flour, water, salt and pepper until you have a thick, creamy batter. Don’t worry about any lumps. Dip the beans in the batter and fry in the hot oil until brown and crisp, about 3 minutes. Serve immediately.
Add a few cubes of ice to your batter for an extra crisp crust.
